Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • ½ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream
  • 4 tablespoons milk

Sweeteners and Seasonings:

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 5 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 15 Dove® Dark Chocolate PROMISES (about 4 ounces)
  • 8 Dove® Peanut Butter and Milk Chocolate PROMISES for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare a water bath by filling a large roasting pan with water and positioning it on the bottom rack of the oven. Preheat to 325°F (165°C) and line a 9-inch springform pan with parchment paper.
  2. Whip cream cheese and sugar until silky and uniform. Gently incorporate peanut butter, salt, eggs, sour cream, and heavy cream into the mixture.
  3. Transfer the cheesecake batter into the prepared springform pan, ensuring an even surface.
  4. Bake the cheesecake for 45 minutes, then turn off the oven and allow it to rest inside for an additional 25-30 minutes to set properly.
  5. Remove the cheesecake and let it cool completely. Refrigerate or freeze until firm and ready for assembly.
  6. For the chocolate cake layers, heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat two 9-inch cake pans with baking spray.
  7. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking soda, and baking powder in a medium bowl. Separately, blend coffee with milk.
  8. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then incorporate eggs one at a time.
  9. Gradually fold the dry ingredients and coffee-milk mixture into the butter mixture, alternating to create a smooth batter.
  10. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and bake for 25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow cake layers to cool completely on a wire rack.
  12. Prepare the peanut butter frosting by whipping butter until creamy. Blend in peanut butter, then gradually add powdered sugar and milk until the frosting reaches a light, spreadable consistency.
  13. Set aside 1½ cups of frosting for decorative garnish.
  14. Create the chocolate ganache by microwaving chocolate and cream together, stirring until completely smooth and glossy.
  15. Let the ganache cool for approximately 15 minutes to achieve the right pouring consistency.
  16. Assemble the cake by placing one chocolate cake layer on a serving plate, topping with the chilled cheesecake layer, and then adding the second cake layer.
  17. Generously frost the entire cake with the peanut butter frosting, ensuring a smooth, even coating.
  18. Briefly refrigerate the frosted cake to set the initial layer.
  19. Carefully pour the cooled ganache over the cake, allowing it to elegantly drip down the sides.
  20. Embellish with Dove® chocolates and use the reserved frosting to create decorative piped details.
  21. Refrigerate the cake until ready to serve, allowing the flavors to meld and the texture to set perfectly.
